EDS have been appointed as Principal Contractor for the Main Works Demolition at Nightingale Road, Derby. The site comprises structures employed to house the full range of industrial processes necessary to research, develop and construct cars, piston and gas turbine engines. This is a historic site with buildings dating back to 1908.
The works include:-
The demolition of all buildings and structures down to ground floor slab level, with exception of the Main Commercial Building;
Asbestos removal;
Soft strip;
Decontamination of all pits and disposal of residual chemicals;
Backfilling to surrounding ground level;
Disposal of demolition arisings and clearance of all wastes off site.
The demolition works will be undertaken in one phase with a contract period of approximately 30 weeks.
