Euro Dismantling Services Limited (EDS) has won one of the industry's highest accolades, the Demolition Contractor of the Year award in the Construction Industry Awards 2009, the Hard Hats. 

EDS, one of the Sunday Times Fast track 100 companies specialising in work on highly complex sites throughout the world for the chemical, pharmaceutical, power, brewery and oil industries, beat off stiff competition to secure the accolade.

Established in 1994, EDS has secured a number of major worldwide blue-chip clients including BP, Shell, Pfizer, BNG, Diageo and GlaxoSmithKline. The company's early work involved the demolition and recovery of metals initially in the UK. As contracts grew, EDS began undertaking work on the clients' overseas projects and recognised that there was a demand for a full-service organisation to undertake the entire process from demolition, remediation and dismantling through to decommissioning and remediation of land, waste recycling and the recovery and divestment of assets such as metals and machinery to disposing of the land after the clean-up process was complete. The Global phenomenon has over 200 employees and has offices in Turkey and Canada to service the Central European and North American markets.
