Project Scope Demolition of refinery processing plant, buildings and site undergrounds, asbestos removal and land remediation.
As part of the on-going decommissioning at the Shell Haven site, EDS have undertaken a multitude of works resulting in a level site ready for redevelopment. This has included demolition of pump houses, steel structures, site buildings and controlled explosive demolition. Removal of asbestos and refractory materials, hot cutting of vessels and spheres and removal of piping structures, pipe bridges and transformers.
eds have been working on a continuous basis at the Shell Haven Oil Refinery Site since 2000, this has enabled eds to develop excellent working relationships with the Shell project management team, holding co-operation and communication with all parties involved as paramount leading to successful project completion.
From initial method designs, professional management through to project execution, eds applied experienced engineering techniques, produced detailed method statements, risk assessments and health & safety plans to facilitate the Shell team and their consultants allowing the projects to be delivered safely and successfully.
With eds's expertise in total turnkey project management the multi-disciplined aspects of the project were carefully planned to benefit the programme and client budget, whilst ensuring that health, safety and environmental awareness was crucial, leading to an excellent safety record, client satisfaction and the award of safety certificates from Shell UK Ltd.
